considering purchasing a fountain

I am new to this forum and wanted some peoples opinions. I am considering purchasing a 32 fever. The boat I am looking at is a 91 fever with the 2 454 385 hp. The boat looks brand new. Any one have any suggestions of what I should look for... what they like about them, what they hate about them. I am also looking at a 96 fever with the 502s.

I would lean towards the 96...as the hull would be stepped. We owned a 97' 32 Fever with 525SC's...absolutely loved the boat. Kept it for 8 yrs before we bought our 42. If you are boating in fresh water...a 32 is plenty of boat for most waters. 502's are rock solid...and probably an 80MPH+ boat. Good luck.

If you're lookig for a real clean 32 send me a PM and I can hook you up with a friend of mine. He has a real nice 32 and is looking for a 35 right now.

96 will be faster but will suck more gas and cost more on insurance. Are you concerned with speed or not. My 29 does 70 but i rarely even do above 50-55, so why have a boat that does 80? Just depends on what you want. If the 96 is in worse shape I would take the older one. Stepped hulls depending on how many steps are not as good in rough water either

Why have a boat that will do 80? Because we can. Why have a car that will do 200? Because we can.

Why will it suck more gas. looks like to me if you have the same power and the hull is faster it would mean it is more efficient therefor using less gas.

I was waiting for the this obivous stupid response. I get what you are saying. But speed it not important to everybody and that's all I was pointing out.

newer one has bigger engines, thus will suck more fuel. All things to think about. Also repair and part availability on 454 is better than 502 and larger. With that said if I owned a 32 I would either want fuel injected 454's or 502's. Either way I would think 454's would push a 32 to clost to 65.

A 502 in a stepped hull will get better mileage the a 454 in a non-stepped hull at the same speed. The difference in insurance would be only if the value was more or it went over 100mph. Why would it be worse in rough water? Buy the boat that does 60 and you will wish you bought the one that does 80.
