The fuel lines were replaced with new hose today from the tank to the cutoff valves. I have the mechanical pumps. Went to the reservoir today to test. Water was so low, after third ramp got the boat off the trailer, idled out and port trim would only click! Rats! Checking relays in the morning. Having a little snake bite lately.

Is it fuel injected and has the vst pumps? if so take apart the vst tank and look for junk on the vst screen I had the same thing happen to me and cleaned the vst screens and it went away.

Part way there to finding cause of missing. While changing the plugs, noticed soot on the outside of sparkplug. Also found one wire with damaged boot that was jumping to block. Took the plugs to who set up my carbs to let him read the plugs for the fuel mixture. First thing he said is "you have exhaust leak blowing on every plug".

Taking EMI exhaust manifolds off tomorrow and checking to see if manifolds are hitting the head bolts and not allowing the exhaust manifolds to mate properly. Anyone else with this experience? Grind the manifold for fit?

My SM manifolds hit my head bolts, preventing them from pulling up tight. Had to grind a smal amount off the manifolds to clear the stock head bolts. No washers

Thanks Jerry, just wanted to hear that someone had to grind on a manifold before. Brian

I just bought the SM exhaust (used) and had them stripped and repowdercoated. Taking a grinder to them wasn't my preference, but at least it is on the underneath side and some black heat paint made them look alright. So far good.

I had gasket failures! take a look at the pics in another thread I started, "Exhuast leak EMI thunder mating surface". The gaskets that came with the EMI are not reinforced, I think the exhaust just blew the gaskets apart.
