New Fountain Owner

After doing a good bit of homework, I decided on an '01 35 Lightning. For what I wanted, it fits the bill perfectly. 500 EFI's run nice, the boat is well built and nicely rigged. The 35 is a perfect size for my needs. Still feels like driving a sports boat but has all the goodies I need. I just wish it was not winter now. That is all good though because I can set things up the way I like them and it will be ready to go on those first cool spring days!

Young Performance 11-17-2011 07:30 PM

Congrats Bill. Can't wait to see it.
Better yet, can't wait to get my hands on it and make it faster:drink:
Talk soon.
Eddie

BUIZILLA 11-17-2011 07:56 PM

send it down here

it's warmer..

ZXXX Donzi 11-17-2011 08:23 PM

Oh my Donzi was fast, fast fast! I was ready to move to twins and this was just right. The wife LOVE'S it.

Oh I have it hidden away in Chattanooga where Eddie can't find it! I give it a couple of months before it goes to visit Eddie. My stuff always seems to find it's way over there. When freshen time comes.....look out!

I don't know if you have driven one of these Jim, but you will need to when you come up to Chatt. It is a great handling boat. I would not mind bringing down to the Buiz homeland. Plenty to do there in one of these!

littledcsrodshop 11-17-2011 11:35 PM

Does this mean you sold the 26 Donzi ?

breakitout 11-17-2011 11:46 PM

I did. That was an awesome boat. I am going to miss ambushing people in that boat. My favorite exercise was to run along at 60 or so and wait for someone "victimize" a 26 foot boat with a single. I guess folks thought it had a 454 or something. I would usually run to 70 or so with them and then drop the hammer. That boat pulled hard to 90 and still pulled decent after that. I usually did not have to push it past 85. It got kind of crazy much above 85.

It was time to move to twins though.

Young Performance 11-18-2011 03:07 PM

We can do the same with this one. It's just gonna cost twice as much.:drink:
THat 26 was a bunch of fun to drive. I'm actually gonna miss it to. That boat surprised a TON of people. I know it surprised John that day he drove it. It surprised him so much that we almost went for a swim.

Congrats, that makes two new boats in Chattanooga next year!!! Can't wait to get on the water!!

Wes Burmark 11-18-2011 07:08 PM

It's going to be tough waiting out the winter. Enjoy your new 35. I would think it would hit close to 90.

Cool deal, I have a buddy looking for something in that size range, so I thought I would check.. I have no doubt that boat surprised allot of people as it had to be one of the fastest 26zx's to ever hit the water while at the same time not very suspecting !!

Congratulations on the new ride..

RaggedEdge 11-18-2011 08:19 PM

Congrats! You are right on, one of the best rides in the size range. Love my beak.

tim brown 11-19-2011 11:37 AM

I want to see that bad boy OL! I love those. I hang out in Chatt all the time. I am there now. I keep the 60 down here.

Eddie, will have some fun with this in due time. I will want that new ignition set up and have it dialed back for 89. This is gonna be a blast!

The 60?! You got the best of both worlds going on!!! Are you above the dam or below? My OL is at the RV Park Palace, call me sometime and we can run over there. I also look forward to seeing your new ride, and per Gerald's previous post, it's going to be fast!!!

And I REALLY can't wait to see your new toy. I am pondering a trip way down south to see her when she comes out! That is going to be a beast!

I would love to. We live in Franklin but Chattanooga is our weekend hang out. We like to run the gorge. It makes for a nice 4 hour trip in the big boat or a 35 minute blast to town in a fast boat. I was docked downtown last Sat night in the big boat. Here she is on the attached pic. She lives down at a covered slip at Hale's Bar.

mcprodesign 11-21-2011 12:29 PM

I think we need pics of the 35 :D

Thanks. I like the relatively simple graphics. The boat runs great.

drksuroo 11-21-2011 05:26 PM

Nice boat! Graphics look very familiar. I have the same ones just different colors. I really have enjoyed my 35. They're great boats!!
