525's? Low 90's

nitrousnolan 01-13-2012 09:38 PM

Prob low 70's from what I have been told from friends that have owned these.

I would say in the 70's lots of weight with trips, if they're stock motors.

Buddy owned one with triple 525SC's. Low 90's
Any pics of the boat?

I know stock 502 efi (415 hp) trip will do 83.

I had a 42 1993 flat bottom 525 SC boat ran 81 GPS when dailed in. Steps should be worth a few. I burned $8k worth of fuel May - August get ready for that. The SC's are very thirsty and run on 92+

So we are anywhere from low 70's to mid 90's.

Might not wanna take our word as we can't even be in the same ball park. :)

Nice looking ride. Was the hatch pad replaced?

Ran-Dom 32 01-14-2012 09:21 AM

'98 was the first year with the big steps, should be worth a few mph vs an older model

Griswald 01-14-2012 10:08 AM

CON: gas bill. OMG!

later 01-14-2012 01:48 PM

straight bottom 502 390hp low to mid 70's, 454 525sc motors low mid 80s, 98 big steps 500hp upper 80 lower 90s

later

beautiful BEAK, double step that will help your speed, she's going to suck fuel when you get into the boost, she'll run in the 80's for sure.
I thought you had 454's with an after-market blower, those blue motors are nice little motors, I have a set of them, run just fine.
My 35 with those motors runs 79.9 GPS, but mine is a single step.

FIVEPTOHH 01-14-2012 04:18 PM

My biggeset concern about buying it is the upkeep and maintenance versus my single engine 27' that I have now. The gas bill will suck pretty bad as well but I am not as concerned about that as I am the motors. It sounds like they are a reliable powerplant I just was not to sure about the motors being supercharged because of reliability concerns

eddie 01-14-2012 04:31 PM

Pretty small blowers on 454's with dominators. Nothing exotic and parts are around. Change the oil in blowers send in around 250 hours for inspection you shouldnt have any issuues. Gas was cheaper in a triple 2002 47 with 500 efi's and it was as fast!
