maybe cause it's a raceboat ? Starboard drive ( not port) 1 inch lower than port. ( 1 5/8 below cl ) Could use 1 of my 1 inch drive spacers on port, but then they'd both be too low.

Crap!!! Call Fountain. Don't do the drive spacer. Trimming will always be out of whack.
Do the engines look off?
Could the bottom have been wrecked and repaired wrong?

Never seen that before, I'm puzzled too. Who installs twins in different heights and why???

mcprodesign 03-22-2012 09:36 AM

maybe to keep the speed up turning left on the race course ? need to figure out a way to raise the motor. header is 5/8 from gunnel on other motor. this one has lots of room. Fountain told me I should give money to someone here on the west coast. Cost to much to ship it to them and I want to do the work myself. I'm fully capable

port header 1" from gunnel to header flange. Star. 1 3/4 gunnel to header flange. Port drive 4 1/4 to swim deck. star. 4 1/2 to swim deck. Air cleaners within 1/4 from gunnel. Lower pulley's within 1/4 from bilge floor.......port prop shaft top even w bottom. star propshaft top . 1 inch below bottom. Bottom blue printing looks to have substatual rocker down center. possibly this is the cause. maybe motor 1/2, bottom 1/2 ??? Anyway it is a whole inch of prop cl.

Raising the engine is the easy part just redrill the mounts its getting the drive opening cut, glassed and then the tail pipes ? OMG

The right and left headers are different. Is that why the height difference?
Set up a laser under the boat and measure the contour of the hull and compare sides.
Pick a spot up front and mount the laser 2" away from hull, level, aiming past the transom. Measure distance between beam and hull and compare to opposite side, same locations.
Check the hinge pins for sagging and the swivel pin for adjustment/sagging.
Are you done yet?

I know the right header is different heidth .. :lolhit: Both right headers. I'll work on the other stuff thanks !
