Call legend marine in Texas

sonickevin95 04-06-2012 08:52 AM

If anyone has positive feedback on a 32 fever that would be nice to hear also. There's alot of them in my area but other then my neighbors center console I've never bin on a fountain. Hoping they live up to the hype.

Wildman_grafix 04-06-2012 10:02 AM

Well I can give you what I think.

First it will not ride like a 35, but it is a fun boat. More of a sports car feel to it. It takes a little to get used to but I love mine.

At WOT it used to be a bit unnerving the way it dances but now I realize that you can just let it go across the top of the waves. Mine rides better at 50-65 then at 40.

The biggest thing that the wife doesn't like is no real head compartment in the boat,,,,,,, I have to agree on that one.

Do not bring tabs above level, you don't get anymore speed, and it wants to chime walk then. I have not tried it in salt water yet,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, very soon. Got to get the wife moved in.

Just another thing, the person I bought the boat from had a 32, then went to a single step 35, he went back to a 32. He told me because he liked the feeling better. That is just what he told me, he boated the Ohio river, upstream of Cincy.

Sorry about your luck. I had the same experiences with a few banks and now have been with my CU for 12 yrs.

Wildman_grafix 04-06-2012 03:12 PM

Well I got a answer back from Susan on which states she can help people with.

I can only lend in my footprint which would be the following states: New York, Washington, Colorado, Oregon, Alaska, Utah, Idaho, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana.

You would think...but it's like the guy wants banks to come to him, and then throw money at him.

THE 288 KID 04-09-2012 06:05 PM

Yeah no ****. When I'm buying something and have any issues at all, lender, insurance, parts, shipping etc etc, I won't stop making calls till I get the results to make things happen.

I had my loan on my a/t applied for and approved over the phone in 20minutes and had never done any banking there before.

Makes me wonder what the real story is on why this is such a dilemma for this guy :-/

sonickevin95 04-09-2012 07:41 PM

288kid and triple300's, this post created to get advise on a boat I drove 5 1/2 hours and made a deal on. If you have advice thats great, I appreciated the credit unoin idea that you brought up. To judge and make smart a$$ comments about the topic or questioning me as an individual are un called for. If you dont like the fact that Im doing some extra homework before I decide to dive in then keep that opinion to yourself. Just to let you know my wife found friday out she is being laid off from her job on may first, a job that she went to 4 years of college to get. So maybe before I go applying for this boat loan I make sure my wifes work situation is going to be ok. Is that ok with you guys? I hope it is, because im sure im getting your opinion either way. To the people with good advice thank you

sonickevin95 04-09-2012 07:42 PM

Oh and glad to hear that the loan process went good for you guys, I like to hear people do good for themselves

POWERPLAY J 04-09-2012 07:57 PM

Don't let them bother you. I am much more of a dik than either one of them ;) Sorry to hear about the layoff. Maybe it's just not the right time. You guys will pull through and most likely be better off. Boats are everywhere, take care of your chit and you will be on the water before ya know it.:)

sonickevin95 04-10-2012 04:12 AM

powerplay, thanks bro. I went through similiar thing two years ago with the sonic so I got a good attitude about it. I am also confident that the boat will still be there as im hoping things fall into place for my wife. Patience pays off

Don't let him bother you, if you expected class why don't you take another look at his avatar!

Find comfort in knowing that you are taking the best path for yourself and your family.

THE 288 KID 04-10-2012 12:22 PM

When I tried helping there was only one issue here, finding a lender that would touch a fountain. I think everyone led the horse to the water on that topic and it was his turn to drink. Now there's another issue looming, a lay off, none of us was aware of till after a few of us were like "well are you gonna make this happen or what".

A new yorker questioning someone else's class? I've heard it all now.... :lolhit:

POWERPLAY J 04-10-2012 12:30 PM

Say what you will but I haven't seen a mullet in this area for at least 10 years.

I understand your frustration, but you are giving free help on an internet forum. Ya, it turned out to be a waste of time in the short term, but just because he is doing his homework and not reacting fast enough for your standards is no reason to attack the guy. I do homework for a day then make my move, others do it for years before they move.

sonickevin95 04-11-2012 02:09 PM

Wife has interview tomorrow, I have seen sooooo many people get themselves in over there head the last few years with the work situaution being poor. I happen to be in a career where when im working I make great money.... but my trade has taken a big hit over the last 3 years. I have never bin laid off personally so I believe I will be ok, but as you see my wife just got hit by Johns hopkins hospital of all companys, with the poor economy bug. Better safe then sorry, when I hear that she is hired ill fill out the application and buy the boat. I wish I was rich but unfortunately im just a regular guy like the rest of us.

You got that right! $1200-1300 fill-ups here. And CNN reported today that if the US ends up in a conflict with Iran, the price of a barrel of oil could jump from just over $100 a barrel (currently) to $200 a barrel. Are we ready for $2,000 to $2,500 fill ups?

Back to the thread. I've never heard of a finance company turning down an applicant solely due to the brand of boat, although I did run into some resistance with insurance companies when I mentioned I was buying a Fountain, claiming the "performance" issue (yeah, even a 38EC). Also I've heard of some finance companies requiring that the boat be less than 10 years old.

My suggestion is, don't waste your time dealing with any finance company that gives you a negative response. There's too many other avenues. Bottom line, if you want it bad enough, you'll find a way. Good luck.

No but he has a really sweet profile pic that could've been pirated from any site. So we all have to take it seriously...

It is a good idea to pay for a survey ,and humidity test before buying any used boat, just to check things out .
Good Luck.
