Richard.... being around go fast boats to much, I pretty much know what to expect as far as top speed goes.... I was more looking for the quiker plane, faster cruising speed and things of that nature. I loved the sonic in every aspect except its performance. Needed trim tabs heavy just to cruise in calm water, and it planed like a 250 lbs english mastif with a broken leg. So i believe that this will be the perfect step up from a 26 sonic. The only worries I have is how it will be in the rough because the upper chesapeake in HORRIBLE at a moments notice.

Na Kev you will be good in the beak. People bash on fountain because with anything that is at the top of the chain, it will be a sh^t stir. Hit me up once you get it, I am sure you will be satisfied. Your old sonic is still SUPER clean, guy takes care of his stuff.. As for your cruise, planning deal, run a 4 or 5 blade prop. That will help a bit in these areas. Hope to get the new boat back from paint in the next month, hope to run in the high 90's low 100's with our power. :drink:

I appreciate the older fountain also so I cant wait to see what you and sr. come up with. Sr. knows his stuff so Im sure it will be the real deal! Any reason why the project shifted away fron the fever?

32 Fountain
I have owned 29, 32 38 and 42. From a 29 to 32 with twins is a huge difference and much more stable at 80 Plus. The fountain saging rear at idle on a 32 with Twin 500's just need to make sure that pinion shaft and rear rail are well sealed will always take on a bit of water and then get under first step in cabin. Also the rear sun pad being close to the water seams to get beat up by moisture. If you can swing a 35 I think this is the best model for what you can get. Especially when you have to get into the engine compartment been trapped in the 29 and 32 a few times. Remember no substitute for lenght in rough water. Been harrassed over the years from non fountain guys, you wil love it when you run them over rough water and be a 1/4 mile ahead because they can hold the sticks down even if they have a faster v bottom. Can not count how many times this has happened. Best of Luck.

That's good to hear.... 35 is just not in the cards right now, I was so tired of lagging behind everyone in the sonic.

As far as the tight engine compartment goes, that's pretty par for the coarse. We pull the engines from my buddies 28 cigarette every offseason and getting the back in is not easy to say the least. The all black merc engines if run and maintained properly shouldn't give me to much issues. Only 108 hours verified on both rebuilds.
