XS Power Batteries
 

Has anyone tried this line of batteries?

We're thinking about bringing a pair in to test this season. More cranking amps then OPTIMA, and almost 20lbs less, sealed deep cycle in the D3400 series

Thank you for the email and for your interest in XS Power products! There are a lot of people making the switch from Optima, but not usually for weight savings purposes. Since our batteries are “flat-plate” designed, they are more dense and contain more lead and more power for the given group size, which means they will be heavier for the space they consume. The advantage is higher instantaneous power, and higher capacity over the Optima spiral cell design. We have found that many marine enthusiasts are excited about these advantages, as well as the durability of our product.

I dont know bought energizers from Sams club at 68 bucks a peice and are going on three seasons without a hitch. Took them out of boat last winter hooked them to charger this spring and one was at 85% and other at 89%. I guess if weight savings is a concern. 20lbs is not going to make a difference in the casual boaters life.
