If it's a newer style the 27's don't have a anchor locker on the front of the bow. Also the cockpit has a little different layout. The 29's cabin door is centered and the 27's door is off to the port side a little bit.

If it the newer style I always look at the windsheild first.
29 side view curves up towards the rear, and the 27 corners off - if that makes sense.
Google image the two...

New style 29's have tall cabin doors with flat top piece. 27's have small doors with top piece angled down. Older 29's have passenger glove box in corner. 27's and newer 29's have passenger glove box directly in front of passenger seat. Newer 27's and 29's both have anchor locker in front and integral fold up ladder on swim platform. Most 29's have 2 thru hull drains on passenger side, towards waterline of the hull, about even with the windsheild (one for sink, one for front step bilge pump) whereas most 27's will only have one drain (for step bilge pump) or none. Railing is different around sun pad on the 27 than it is on the 29, too, 29 railing wraps around the entire back of sunpad.
