Lol thanks man... Its a 84 I do believe. It feels laid up really light compared to a friends old 84 he had. Also there was some blistering on the paint, which my dad said he knows that early kevlar boats had these issues, so thought it could poss be that instead of water/oil or shrink wrap damage.

Thanks John jr

mine is a 84also.i bought it from a guy in maryland.it was over @ javins yacht yard........i think i got it right.i do knoe it was annapolis.the hatch covers open the oppsite of what i normanly see on fountains.they fold over onto eachother.kinda like the old cigs and sutphins of the day.they are manual, not power assist.i know that my layup is fiberglass resin, polyester i think, could be wrong.i just had major work in the cabin and went back w/epoxy resin.i am about 75 percent done.how about you?brad

How heavy is your hull laid up ?? My boat feels really light on the sides and all, much less then even my 32. Funny my dads buddies brokerage was in that yard, LOL

the lay up i would say was average.i had to redo the center bulk head, forward and part of the very front bulk head, and all of the floor and some of the stringers.out of all the work i have done on this boat and others, this was the hardest part, cutting the old rotten wood out and fitting new stuff in.the factory glass work looked clean and not just slapped together,,,,,even in the areas that you could not see.one day i will post pics when finnished.

Fenderjack 06-17-2012 12:18 PM

Hmmm. Sent them a email, no answer yet. Some one on this forum has to know. LOL

Well today i received a email back. Basically they said they have no records on what boats were built with what in the early 80's, t as they were all part of the old plant ect ect and no access to any of it. So I still am unsure. However the boat seems to meet the characteristics of a kevlar boat, light light lay up, the blister issues, the dark yellow color( which I know older glass is like this also) Going to try and get the boat to a scale and see what it weights. If it is in the 5-6000 range that will be a good sign.
