I finally got my drives back and props from Hering. Should be water testing this weekend. Also got my dash panels back from Innotech. Hope this setup works for me. It will definitely work 100% better than the 7 blade Herings and
1 1/4 prop shafts I was originally going to use that would probably end up on the bottom of the ocean with 10 to 15 hours of use. And probably wouldn't been able to get on plane being 2 1/2 inches prop shaft above bottom.

Griswald 06-27-2012 08:13 AM

why a Bravo in the center?

Pokher Ace 06-27-2012 08:30 AM

Whos #6 shaft are those and do they use same carrier?

Here are some pictures of my exhaust rings. This is how FPM did them. I'm a little concerned because there is no tolerance..very tight fit..no room for vibration movement..I'm worried my headers might crack...Anyone experience this and could give me some advice?

jerryhaney 06-29-2012 08:03 PM

hope

Hope you have lots of spare stuff on the transom and props.

47 lightning 06-30-2012 11:06 PM

thanks for all the help on the exhaust rings . i took them off and had about a 1/4 of an inch taken off the original bore, which is something that should have been done in the first place.

Ran the boat on the 4th..it totally surprised me...got on plane like if it was on rails...2500 rpm on the 2 outers and 2000rpm on the center and it jumped right on plane..
Results:

3000 rpm- 55 mph trim- 2 tab- 0
4100 rpm- 78 mph trim- 3 tab- 0
4600 rpm- 88 mph trim- 3.5 tab- 0

Boat handled totally different..i felt a little of steering torque..it carried the bow beautifully. Had wife with me on the boat..she said she didn't notice any difference on the handling..but I could tell that it had to be driven over 88mph.. and I was afraid to push it any more without a professional driver with me. So I am taking it down to Rolf Papke in New Jersey ..he is a professional racer and he is going to dial it in with me..will post results next week...

Ran the boat yesterday in New Jersey..Ran great..not as good as I expected it to..
I ran 108mph @ 5800rpm....98 @5200rpm....I think there is still more left in it. I was hoping to break 110mph..taking some diameter off the outer props and see what that will do.

Wow! That's flying!!

47 lightning 07-11-2012 04:20 PM

thanks for the reply .it does feel good when you can cruise around at 4500 rpm at 85 mph . it looks like every body else here on this forum has swallowed their tongue but they will find out what i all ready know .

Have you got your spacers yet?

Got the spacers on last week and ran it around sat it feels allot better , boat feels lighter , running in 2 to 3 footers it was like a walk in the park , so far turning about 4800 at 90 but cant pull much more than that you can feel it fall back it needs more tuning with the 1.34 gears and bigger props , with the last setup Eddie had to lean it out quite a bit now with this setup it changed the game quite a bit . I did run it at 90 for quite a bit just to watch all the guages and every thing was just fine .

Yes double post and yes these are not the 2-3 footers this is later in the day .

looks real good nice riding attitude.you might need some more prop diameter to make up for x height.that is why i tried the 18 diameter.had to customize the cav plate.

47 lightning 07-12-2012 08:02 AM

your hud or prop carrier is over 5 in in diameter so you loose a good part of the prop thats why i went with 18 in
