42 excutioner/lightning difference?
What is the difference between 42 excutioner and lightning? Windshield, dash anything else? Looking at differnet years from 2000 to 2007. Any major changes in hull? Thanks

The hulls are the same from '99 on. Since '99 only the top cap and some trim materials differences but hull mold is the same. |
Thanks On Time. Them are some empressive #s for big boat! How about plaining? In my little experience with fountains they run high drive heights and big wheels for top end and plaining and mid range suffers?? Do older boats run drives a little deeper?

The older boats do run the drives deeper, and planning is not an issue. Even with 2" shorties, the older boats plane fairly well, particularly with 5 blade props.
Having ridden in both the 42' Lightning and Executioner, I have found that the Executioner has a sportier feel as compared to the Lightning. It's probably because of the windshield configuration. Both are obviously great boats. It really just comes down to your preference in the looks of the traditional style Executioner vs. the newer style Lightning. |
