Need Help What size Fountain To Buy
 

Need advice. Looking to get our first fountain. Considering a 32 or 35. Last boat was a 1999 Checkmate Convincor 253. I really like the 35's but dont want to much boat to handle but am also concerned the 32 isnt significantly bigger than the 27 checkmate and the extremely low rear coupled with the vibration issues at idle has me a little concerned.

We've never had a boat with twins so thats going to be a new experiance also. Any suggestions? We boat on Lake Ontario often which can get chopped up in a hurry. Also, if anyone knows of any 32 or 35's in the North East for sale, let me know 585-727-2686 ready to buy asap! Thanks for the Advice!

I've had both, and the 32 was my first twin engine boat. The 32 was a very nice boat, but the 35 that I have now, and have had for 10 years, is a lot more boat...
I would drive them both, and see what you like better, and I"ll bet you'll come home with the 35. And a Lightning is a lot more boat than a Fever IMO.

I have a 29 and run on ontario all the time with no problems, a 32 probably wouldnt be much different but a 35 would handle better. A 32 with 454s probably isnt going to get much past high 60s if speed is a concern if I went with a 32 Id want 502s. Also keep in mind tow vehicles dont know what you have, but a 35 ft boat I wouldnt be caught dead in something less than a 2500,250 diesel equivalent.

I have a 2500 HD so thats not an issue. Keep the suggestions coming, I appreciate all of the input!

going from a 25-35 will be quite the jump in overall handling docking, and towing. Its probably doable and I wouldnt be scared of it. But definitely a lot more boat. Where do you boat out of anyways? Im usually St lawrence and down by oswego/pulaski on the lake

I went from a 270 Convincer (the old 259) straight to a 35 Ex and it was no problem. The first few times I drove the 35 it seemed large (but really cool) and with the twins it actually handled better than the single engine Check.

No question between the two go with the 35.

Twins are so nice around the dock. One days driving and you will be feeling like a pro. Bigger is better! 35 has enclosed head and fridge. Nice features.

We have a cottage on Port Bay and boat from there to Sodus Bay, Fairhaven, Oswego and Occasionally Sandy Pond. Would like to go a little further once we get a bigger fountain...
