Interior project '94 32 fever

Since I'm sure I've annoyed some by asking a ton of questions on their threads I figured I would start my own. Criticism is welcome as its my first time tackling this.

I bought this boat in May of last year and at the time the interior was starting to go. The majority of the paneling was just falling apart. I plan on replacing any possible wood with this white (pvc) board that I got off a job site. It was used as a facing on this building which then channel lettering went onto. It doesn't seem to have much strength in terms of snapping but there shouldn't be any forces that would cause damage in an interior setting. If anyone knows what this stuff is called please let me know as I will need more.

In the fall I pulled the interior and have been bouncing around ideas since. I'm doing all the wood now but only doing the rear half of vinyl this year. Here's is where I'm at now. Done one piece as a test so far and I like the results. Need the backing foam then new skins (being done by fountain).

Using boatnt's photo, a friend came up with some variations of sunpad layouts using my exterior colors. I'm still up in the air.. Enjoy

Those are the same colors I've got on my boat. I would be having the same trouble choosing.
Mine as well go ahead and swap the black and yellow on the 32 in the last photo to see all the color combinations. Post that final pic and I'll give my opinion.

Got some more done today. Staples are fairly easy to remove since they seem to have used regular staples which just rotted off. Put one panel completely back together (with stainless staples) and built both bolster bottoms. Unfortunately due to space restrictions I was forced to make them pvc/wood hybrids. Soaked the wood in resin so hopefully no more rot. I'll hopefully get the rest of the side panels done tomm so I can tear into the bolster frames.

Vindicator, Good idea on flipping them. I'll send him an email now and post it tomm.

you may want to look into "monel" staples. Stainless steel staples will still rust in any salt water environment. I've been replacing the ones on my 38EC as the regular S.S. staples let loose. Good luck with the project, keep the pics coming

Can you post a larger pic of your avatar.

38, good call on the monel staples. Ill use the stainless for the interior that I plan on redoing next year and use the monels on the new skins.

Today sucked in terms of progress. Went to pick up a dresser which turned into helping someone move for 4 hours.

Stripped about 4 more panels as well as pulled apart the bolsters. I'll be adding some bracing once I bend the frames back in place (see curved to brace in pic). Since I've owned the boat the drivers bolster piston has leaked. Once removed I could see the seal was blown out. I grabbed the number and got lucky on eBay. Grabbed 2 brand new shipped for $59. I'm going to be making the bolsters out of wood since there is a lot of different sized wood and soaking them as well in resin. I'm quickly running out of room. Once I've got the interior to the point where I'm awaiting skins I'll be pulling the motors to paint the bilge.

That bowed upper frame member is one of the areas I reinforced. After you straighten it, weld a 1/4" rod from it to the lower frame support. That'll keep it from bending upwards again. Just that slight bow also keeps the seat bottom from coming all the way up.

I like those graphics. Is the Fountain Logo elongated?

Thanks, It's more oval then round. Honestly never noticed before.

My new seat pistons came in yesterday. Exact replacement, hopefully no more red floors from leaking seals.

What color pattern did you decide to go with? I was torn between the purple 32 with black outline and the purple 32 with yellow outline.

Haven't decided, ordering tomm. Was hoping to get a one with the yellow/black reversed to help make it.

Edited... Guy just emailed me. The yellow is bland but I'm sure it can be changed. What is everyone's thoughts? Hoping to order tomm.

I think it looks better than the ones in the first pic.

Put off for another week. Fountain is sending over some vinyl swatches so I can see the various purples and yellows.

The black will get very Hot to the touch or foot in Summer. Just something to think about .

Today's update. Swatches came in from fountain, pulled both motors and brought back home (thanks Nordic95). Will bring motors home tomm and start washing bilge as well as fiberglass interior. It will be interesting finding out what's up with my motors in terms of upgrades. Externally they look like stock 502 mag efis except for the Gil magnum exhaust, finned aluminum valve covers and a sticker saying Arizona speed and marine on the computer from 1997 but here is where that changes. I have gold roller rockers as well as roller lifters. I should know more tomm if I'm able to tear down and see if pistons are stock and if I can get a cam number.

Wow that yellow is really yellow. If that makes sense. A little gold tint looks better. IMO. Like in your first set of pics. Like I said, I have the same colors so maybe it's just what I'm used to.

The colors in this pic is off some, but they look the pretty close as the 1st 2 swatches you have above. My yellow might be a little more golden thou

I went with a local shop. I did all the interior in white with purple trim. Here is my new sun pad.
