Speed 07 38 lightning 496s
 

I'm curious what the speed of a 07 38 lightning with 496s would be. Most seem to have te 525s and I hear mid 90s with those so would the 496s be mid 80s? Just curious. Seen a few for sale and wondering.

There is one listed that is silver/black/red custom painted with HO's and I think ITS or something..cannot remember exactly. When R3 had it posted I asked him and he said it was a low 80's boat...not too dang bad IMO.

My 35 with 496's does 80..no more. Doubt a 38 would see 80 but mid 70's sure.

Ask an owner of one to get the factory test sheet #'s.

Based on what I have seen the 38 is as fast, or faster than the 35 power to power. I would think that a staggered 496 38 would run 80+. Might take a minute or two more to get there with the 496's vs a pair of 525's . Would not be a bad package overall.

Full stag, shorties , 5-6 blades dialed in right should run 85 in that boat.
