help diagnosing an alarm

Hey guys, I need some help diagnosing the cause of an alarm. I changed the engine and drive oils and now when I try to warm it up I get a constant beep.

All gauges read normal except water pressure. It reads 1-2psi at idle. Seems low, but it's on the ears so I dunno.

Any idea what would cause this?

Water pressure at idle is often low. AS long as it comes up quickly off idle I don't think that would be your problem.

It does come up above idle so that's good to hear.

Anyone know what are the possible conditions to cause the boat to alarm? That'd be a very useful list to have for anything.

Just a guess, but when you drained your drive sometimes the float valve in the drive bottle gets stuck to the bottom, if thats the case you just pull it up.

I was wondering if that may be the case, thanks.

Try unplugging 1 the 2 leads from the drive bottle and see if it stops

Do the drives have high speed pickups that you didn't tape off to run on the hose?

Yes they do, and no I didn't. I've had this boat up to temp on the same ears before and it wasn't an issue.

I turned the key on earlier and no alarm. However the engine was not running, though I wouldn't think the engine would have to be turning for this alarm to sound.

I wonder if that switch is NO or NC? NC makes sense, it's failsafe.

Found the issue, it was drive lube sensor. The engine has to be running for that to alarm and I just had time to put it on the ears.

Thanks guys.
