27 Fever owners
I was just wondering what you guys are running for your props? I have a stock set up 502 mag mpi. I am running a 24 P Bravo 1. I'm getting a lot of blowout when taking off (Planing). I was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or if anyone has a solution?

I forgot, I have a 97 Fever step hull.

I'm running the same set up and I'm good

what are you referring to as "blowout?" It's usually normal for the motor to gain around 800-1000rpm as the boat starts to plane if propped correctly. Once you get it on top and settled the slip will lessen and you're on your way.

I agree with what Griswald posted and would like to add I have the same set up and doin fine as well, before you get on plane you should be no more than 3000 RPM the most stress on an outdrive is before it gets on plane, I broke a drive the second year I had my Fountain and talked to few guys on this website about how they brake. Jus offering some insight not being a know it all!

94 non step with a 24 hydromotive, i never go above 3000 rpm on take off. just let her come on plane before pushing the sticks. Tabs fully down and trim tucked in, things last alot longer that way.:boat:

94 fever 26bravo left,slightly built 509.the boat came from the factory w/24 lefty and a 502mpi.

I have a 2000 fountain 27' 502 mag, 23p hydromotive left hand rotation. Ran 67mph on gps at 4950 rpm. Brett at Bblades told me to Lab a 24p bravo 1 and it would get me out of the hole better, have good cruise performance and should get me 70-71 mph at 5150 rpm.
He was exactly right. The perfect setup for my boat. |

I've got a 23p L Hydro, 70mph on gps and out of the hole quick. 425hp. Without much weight I only tab half way and pops right out, full boat tabs all the way down.
