Need help on 42' staggered setup

HEy guys,
Here is my scenario.

2006 Fountain Lightning 42' Staggered
600sci
Bravo XR drives, 1.50 ratio
2" spacers
Hering 6 blade 15.5" X 34 - 20
5,400 rpm
85 mph
27% prop slip

Shouldn't I have more speed and less prop slip? Any help or advice would be appreciated. The drives will be apart for another week so if it a spacer issue I need to know quick.
Thanks!

you have 2" spacers on standard length XR drives?

If so, His drives may be the only ones Fountain ever built that are deeper than yours....:lolhit:

I believe that they are the short lower units, but I don't know enough about them to be sure.

Send your lowers to Rolf at ProRock Marine in New Jersey. Have him install #6 prop shafts then you can run Hering #6 props, take your spacers out. You'll get on plane with no problems, should run high 90's. Reason why you have the spacers is because of the setup that came from Fountain was breaking prop shafts and propeller blades...that's why they spaced it down..I take it you didn't buy the boat new..I have Rolf's number if you need it...Really nice guy to deal with. That is what I had done on my 47 and it runs great...gets on plane at 2500rpm.

It's running great..it's in Florida now...just ran it last week..tried some 6 blade hering 35's 16 rake..the boat didn't like the 16 rake or the 6 blades...it needs 18 rake or more to pick up the bow...only issue i've had was a u joint that let go and tore up the helmet last year..other than that..it gets right on plane...runs real smooth and it gained 10 mph across the whole rpm range. How is yours doing? What props did you end up with and spacers, if any.

Still have the boat at Eddies shop trying some more props , 20+ prop slip and had some darting at high seed issues [ prop blowout ] we will see how it comes out .

Do you have any pics of the boat showing the lowers?
