Yes, that one went for $130k, not sure if the trailer was included but I would assume so.

I never really looked at them to be honest, not much of a fisherman...lol.
I have noticed they are usually priced cheaper than the Express'. What kind of money out of curiosity?? |

A quick check on Boat Trader turned up the least expensive 38EC currently listed on that site, a 2005 for $119k (no trailer): http://www.boattrader.com/listing/20...n-38-EC-359317
I didn't think Fountain was still turning out 38EC's (or anything). I was surprised to see an ad for a 2013 38EC listed for $469k and change... (ouch). I've had my 2004 38EC (500's) for about a year now and enjoy it. It's definitely a unique boat. IMHO, a perfect compromise between comfort and performance. Best of luck with your search. |
That is a nice 38EC and not bad pricing. I am sure you could contact them and ask if they would sell the trailer also.

Thanks for the heads up guys!
That pricing is very attractive! |

The only turn off from looking at the pics is the bottom paint, I would have to really like everything else about the boat. |
Me either on fishing. 525 mercs are a significant upgrade compared to 496 'S. My family & I use it as a cruiser with added benefits. Does anyone on this thread have an EC or S/F with 496's? I would like to know how well it plans & what the cruise speeds would be. Seems like its a lot of boat for 496'S...

I have a 2006 38EC with 496 Mag HO 425 hp. Boat gets on plane as easy as any of by Formula SR1's and my 419 Fastec. Plains as low as 25 mph without tabs and about 20 with tabs. Cruises at 40 mph at about 3,400 rpms getting 1.33 mpg based on my smartcraft guages. Toped out at 62 mph when new and runs at 60 mph now with 480 hours with the bravo 3X drives (1.81:1 ratio) with the merc xr props 25" pitch. The xr props have four blades on the leading prop and 3 blades on the trailing prop. I did also run Bravo 1 1.5:1 ratio with 26" four blades and got 65 mph (gps) a few years back. I think Fountain does the Bravo 3 for ease of docking and better cruising, but the bravo 3's seem to hit a wall at 60-62 mph. I love the boat, definately the best combination of speed, performance, luxury and all overnighting. Our family of four can stay up to a week on the boat with no problem.
