What do you clean a #6 lower with?

My lowers are looking a dirty, what do you use to clean these things? I've tried on/off and muratic acid and I still have streaks.....any suggestions?

DuPont 5717S
3M scotch bright pad
5 gallon bucket
Rubber gloves
Hose

Dump some of the 5717 in a 5 gallon bucket, dip the scotch bright pad in the 5717 and start scuffing your lower unit. Hit the whole thing a couple times until it looks like new. Don't let it dry before you hose it off because it will streak.

Etching aluminum mag wheel cleaner from auto parts store. Spray on/ wipe off, it's that easy

The scotch bright pad is important though because you are scuffing the surface and taking away all of the blemishes so it will look brand new if this is done every week.

Used Bravo 1 oil, should have enough abrasive in it to do the job!!! LOL j/k

I think the merc manual said it only recommends cleaning 6drives with wadded up hundred dollar bills and warm soapy water?
