Default 47 lightning tow rig

After being aboard a 47 lightning I can see a upgrade in the future. Curious to see what people are using for tow rigs for your 47 lightnings.

Anybody have one with trip 575sci's? Also curious about what kind of speeds can be expected.
Thanks
Matt

I can't imagine what kind of fuel would be used in a 47' with triple's - believe me, two 575sci's are thirsty!

....but fast!

I pull mine with a F350 dully (gas motor) with no problems. I am only 5mi from boat ramp in town but 7hours to LOTO & we go there 5-6 times a summer. I keep mine on a real nice trailer with EOH brakes.
Unless you are dead set on 575sci motors for some reason the 525efi's are a much more user friendly motor.(maintenance, FUEL & speed)
The 47 is a great boat & it looks BAD A$$ in the water.

Couple years ago I owned a 2002 47 with 500 EFI's ran 86 GPS awesome boat. Towed it with a 2500 GMC (they are the official truck you know) SRW EXT cab. Was 3.3 miles from ramp trailered it almost every weekend. On longer trips I would of wanted more truck. I have a 2006 with triple 496 HO's and it GPS's at 78 on a trailer asking $129,000.00 with 200 hours on the motors.

a guy I boat with has a 47 w/triples...525efi,s think its a 06.tows it with a 2500gmc pick-up,and its a 6.0liter gas burner.he lives near the boat ramp.but what really blew me away was when he told us he went to Canada to get the boat and towed it back to Virginia.took him awhile.but did it no problem......I wouldn't though.but I tow my 10meter w/ a 1500 4wd dodge.

A cheap, but legal alternative.

Default Duramax

This is the 2500HD 6.6 Duramax that pulls the 47. It pulls locally, but doesn't normally exceed 100 mile trips. Boat is for sale.
