building power for my 10 meter prop help
i am building power for my 1985 10 meter
new power will be 575 hp with trs drives and hubber trans boat ran low 70 with 440 hp stock with 25p 3 blades any one have good idea on what p prop to run with new power ? |
A good friend of mine owns an '85 10 Meter as well with approx 550hp on each side. He swings 26p Hydros and the boat seems to like them a lot.
|
what kind of mph is he doing ?
|
77-80 depending on conditions at around 5400 rpm
|
The question is how many RPMs do your engines need? Are these 575HP 540's that only need 5200RPM, or 575HP 454's that need 5800RPM?

At what rpm???

machine shop is saying 5300

Bblades has the test program which will let you try a few different props. I'd throw the 26s on there and let it eat.

Id bolt the stock 25 3 blades on and go for a run. How much RPM you gain with those props, will give a good idea of how much power you picked up. One speed run shouldn't hurt anything if they still have the 440HP bottom ends or better, and a decent cam/springs. Then once you get those numbers, I'd call Bret at Bblades. |
Our 83 10 meter had 28 bravo's on it with 500 hp motors and bravo drives ran high 70's

Could you post some good pics of your race fairing. Profile and some dimensions.
Would be greatly appreciated. Hope your project is advancing as you wanted. |
