Yea that looks like you are getting close, what kind of heads and cam?
What exhaust? You must be fired up,,,,,,, |
I want to clear up something I said to another OSO member the other day. I was complaining about the price of my build going up to this gent. After the conversation we had this guy called Ron and spoke to him about how I was feeling. Ron came by my office that same day just to see if I was ok. I explained that I was thinking I had sticker shock and that I knew after giving this build some thought that there was no way anyone could see what was good in these motors and what wasn't good and that I completely understood what the increase was about. But I have to say one thing. If you look at the time and effort these guys put into every piece of these motors its completely worth every penny. There can't be anyone who would put any more time in each and every part that goes into a Potter motor. My hat is off to Ron Potter and company I had no idea these motors would be anything like this. If they run anything like they look. I will be hauling ass every were I go. Thank Ron. Can't wait for the Dyno and to hear these babies run.

Check out the paint on the fly wheel you can see the camera man in the reflection. Has to be a 12 inch paint job on the fly wheel.!!!!!!!
Im am pumped wild man. We are going with stainless marine on the exhaust. Simply because I have a fever and with the fever the swim platform sets right on the water at an idol. Ron says with the exhaust under water like that we stand a chance of backing up and filling the motors with water with CMI and couple of other brands. He says that stainless marine is less prone to do this plus the warranty on the stainless is unbeaten. Man IM pumped I got these pictures around 5pm today and I haven't stopped smiling yet.

Nice! Happy boating!
Looking great Norm! Can't wait to see them complete and see the dyno numbers
Yup my rub rail is right at the water we got stellings dry on ours we but on drewmarine shotguns on ours no water issues with the pre set ss flaps good luck looks great and the old saying goes you get what you pay for been there done that lol
Thank You Blue Magic. I appreciate the input. I think your right you get what you pay for too!! If its too good to be true it most likely is.
heres another little tip treat it with respect and you be boating for along time and one more get some drive temp gauges on her u got every gauge for the heart but nothing for the lungs give it some thought!!!!! happy easter
Thanks for the tip Blue Magic. I'm putting all new gauges on her. I really don't think there is anything wrong with the gauges she has now but I'm think new motors get new gauges to be sure everything is getting a true reading. I just bought two new Livorsi warning systems from Sonic 700 the other day. I was looking were to put those on the dash. I'm getting rid of the old depth finder and the clock for the warning systems. Where would you mount the drive temp gauges?? Let me know you thoughts.

Here is the next update and a few more new pictures to post. I went by Potters today to see where we are. Motors are all painted setting on the mounts. They were assembling the fuel systems when I left today. Ron said they will get on the valve train tomorrow and should be ready for dyno early next week no problem. As you will see these guys are just dynamite. I know that I have never seen this much attention to detail before from anyone as these guys at Potter have. Just everything about this build is perfection. Well Ill let the pictures speak for them and in person it was only better. Like I have said on this thread a couple times. If they run like they look the only thing you see from me is roaster tail!!!!!

there is not much room for any other gauges in the dash with a 32. I put mine in gauge pods. you can mount them on top of the dash or along the windshield on the right side. With big power you will be amazed how fast the heat climbs when you put the sticks down. I always thought it didn't make much sense not to have any gauges or reference to whats going on back there. Heat kills bravos and with these gauges you will know if you on fire back there and tell you how each drive corresponds with temperature. If the temperature is drastically different between the two one drive needs some attention and on its way out.
this sounds like a great idea. where do you get these? I googled and found squat

Look Great. When are they being dynoed??
How much HP are you expecting?? |
stimleck, Call John at The Bravo Shop. He was able to get me exactly what I wanted.
Ok I checked on the drive temp gauges. Livorsi has the gauge and kit for the sender directions to hook them up. All we need is the pod to put the gauges in. They were a little pricy I thought. $524.00 for two compete kits. That's everything you need to hook them up sender wires everything. The reading on the gauge is 100 to 300 degres. I always just email the salesman at Livorsi to order what I want from them. If you need that email for Fred let me know and I'll post it on here. Thanks for the great idea BlueMagic. I have bought all brand new Livorsi gauges for mine just now. I wanted all new gauges to go with brand new motors so I'll wait till my motors are in the buy the drive temp gauges. Just explain how the sender works for the temp . It has a prob that screws into the top hole of the oil fill on the drive. It reads the temp of the oil from there.
Great now what oil is Ron using to break in the motor es? And after that what is he going to use? Now what oil are you using in the drives do your homework!!!
Wouldn't you want to run the wires for the drive temps while the motors are out?
Well at 500 bucks thats cheapest insurence you can buy for your drives. For the price of gears and a entire rebuild $500 to know how your drives are feeling on a run can't be beat.
I agree 100 percent with you. I will put them on the boat. Know idea were I'll put the gauges yet but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. I still have a lot of other things to do before I get there. Put these motors back in number 1. I have new picture to put up tonight. We have complete motors guys. Man they are sweet too. If they are as fast as they look we are going to be a rocket on water!!!! I'm told by the man his self Dyno for sure next week. I cant wait. I'm pumped up majorly now. Everyone let me know what you think. I wish I had more of the complete motors from all sides but for now I don't. Ill go over to Ron's shop tomorrow myself and get a in person view and snap a few more pictures. But for now here is what I have to show you.
