prop help on 47 with trip 525efi's

Hello everyone - Need some help picking props on a 2000 47' with fresh stock 525efi motors. I have XR drives with sportmaster lowers 1.5 ratio. Also, any idea on top speed?

Thanks for the help!

I have a 2009 47 with 525's, XR drives, sportmaster lowers 1.5 ratio and ITS transoms. I am running 6-Blade 32P labbed Herings. I got 89.7 on GPS on a test run with 3 guys on board, 3/4 full fuel tanks, winterized water tanks and flat water. My Fountain test report says I can get 94 with one person on board and 50 gals of fuel. I think I can get at least 92 if not a little more with less weight on board.

You should definitely talk to Brett at BBlades, but some things to possibly think about would be 4-blade Bravo Ones (32P), 5-Blade Hydromotive P5X (30P) or the Herings.. the big difference here is I have the ITS transoms so X dimensions could be pretty different and the steps on my boat are probably a bit different from yours as well. Generally speaking, with stock 525/Bravo/Sportmaster combo, you should see high 80's.

2004 47' 525EFI B1 XR running 32" B1 4 blade. Last run of year, 7 people, 2 coolers, 1/2 tank gas & pretty flat water = 88 GPS @ +- 5200 rpm.

32 4 blades here and 89 mph light load !

seems to be pretty much the max speed!

Alright guys.... big trouble in little china.

I checked my drive ratios today just for the heck of it and have confirmed that I actually have Trip 1.35 ratio Sportmaster shorties. Am I out of luck? Is there anyone else pushing their 47 with 1.35 ratio drives? I may be able to trade them out for -2 imco's with 1.5 ratio but wanted to check with the group first. Any help is much appreciated!

I'm not a pro at props!

I had a 1997 sunsation 32 twin HP 500. boat ran 82-83. I had regulat mirage 3 blades prop, 23 pitch! and yes had 1.36 drives!

so my guess is to try... 25 3 blades? 26 4 blades? worst case 28 4 blades?

someone with more knowledge on props could probably chime in and light us up on that good question!

You will want a 28 pitch at least 5 blade with those short lowers to run high 80's like the others. 6 blade 28 pitch herring is prob the best (and most expensive) choice.

Any of you guys running a bigger prop on your center drive?

I talked to Brett from BBlades at the Miami show yesterday. He likes the Maximus 5-blade for our 47's. We figured I was getting about 16% slip and thought I might be able to do a little better but I'm not sure it's worth it. I already have 6 blade Herings which are pretty good props... You should definitely talk to him and possibly use his test program. He charges a few bucks to test the prop and he knows his stuff..

i would think you would get better performance by switching to 1.50 ratio, thats a heavy beast and it would react alot better to the lower ratio.
