Classics made and sold by Baja. Bad, very bad. Someone please rescue Donzi and Fountain. :(

Carrying interest on $1,000,000.00's in inventory just too expensive across the board. They also might go closer to a semi-custom order basis. If they could cut $30-$40M (easily) in inventory across country, maybe the extra savings could go into better "cup holders".

I can see the benefits. I work for a manufacturer and I rarely deal with distributors. They typically mess up more than they provide in some industries. With the advancements in the internet, communication, etc. it is much easier to handle stuff like this. If the quality goes down, so will their buyers but that is totally different than how they attack the market.

I like the idea. Look at the mark up the dealers put on the boats should make them more affordable and maybe boost there sales some. I guess the biggest problem with the sales being down is the 1000 a day worth of gas to run a twin engine boat. It will be interesting to see what really happens. I went to the factory last year. Gail took me for a walk threw when she was still there. It was really hard to look at what was going on there. They had a bout 4 25' Prolines in the line being built and 3 or 4 Baja's going. Not even a Fountain mold in site or any inside being built. They had that one Poker Run Boat that's on there website in the back of the warehouse. Other than that they about 10 refurbs going most of them were the big Fountain Sport cruisers that were damaged during Super storm Sandy up in the ne. They were fixing those for several insurance companies Gail told me. She said if it wasn't for the refurbs she was sure they would keep the doors open. I saw maybe 6 people working threw out the plant period.
