its odd, theres no water line from what i can see in the bilge
You didn't see the stained water line in the bilge??? |
I still don't understand why people don't clean the boat before they take pictures.. I know the boat. It had a bad header and I think stuck a valve that's why the push rod is missing. It was stored at East Dover marina in Toms River and was their for sandy. I don't think it fell off the blocks but at the time the drives were missing. I'm sure it had water in it that would explain the water line in the bilge .Boat is in rough shape..

Um...nobody mentioned the fact that boat is a twin step and staggered? I don't think either of those things were options on a 95 Fountain...that was the first year of the single-step hull...and the motors were side-by-side. So...my thinking is that this thing was bastardized in a BIG way. Owner may have created the staggered setup himself (that had to make a small cockpit REALLY small) and done the bottom work himself, found out neither thing worked, and just left the boat to rot....?
I'd seriously take that into consideration before I worried about a little mold cleanup... |

This 95 42 looks to have a twin step. I know a good bit of the bottom history and know for smaller fountains it was first single step year. I know the 42s were twin stepped earlier then in 98,99 I think they had the huge step. Then back to a medium step. http://www.nadaguides.com/boats/1995...gered/10071318 According to this link nada says staggered was an option. |
Interesting....
However...regardless of whether that was a factory option OR done aftermarket...it likely didn't work, as that single step hull was the one that carried through all the way to the 2000s.... I'd run away from this like it was on fire and full of gas... |

Oh hell...guess I should have looked at the title better...I thought it was a 35, not a 42, d'oh! I don't doubt that 42s were offered with 2 steps and the stagger. <facepalm>
Either way...dude is asking WAY too much... |
And no fret nothing in ad says 42. I'm guessing that's what it is from the twin step and stagger. Now if it were a 35 then yeah I'd be very Leary and wouldn't touch it for any amount. Lol
