Never had wrap on a boat. But had a machine done at work trying to get away from paint and I was not impressed at all. It seemed very soft and easy to damaged. I was told the cars and trucks on the highway look good at a distance but not close up. So I have been watching closer and it seems to be true. That came from the installer of the machine test wrap.

I was going to do a wrap, but heard a lot of people say it was high maintenance and scratches easy, like when tied up to another boat with fenders.

I ended up covering up my original graphics and extended some of lines. Came out great and ended up costing only about $300 and my labor.

Here my thread..

Im still considering wrapping my boat. I can't remember what the price was now. I thought right at 7k for a full wrap. Paint quote was 35k. They have a clear they put over the guy said is tough and polishes like paint and shines just like paint. Lasts 7-10 years under normal conditions. Im still undecided

I have seen wraps that look great. I have also seen that gas will damage it. Be careful filling your tank

two threads on OSO with nice results....modern quality wrap materials hold up much better than earlier examples

Yup I have a wrap and love it! Yes you have to be a little more careful when rafting up but this is fixed with the correct fenders. If done right they look as good up close as they do from far away. Gas doesn't effect it if you clean it up swiftly which most would do anyway. Good for 7-10 years and a fraction of the cost of paint.

Oh yeah and I can completely change the design and install a new wrap every 3 years for about 17 years before I come close to the 40k paint job!
