looking at 2002 29 fever. What to look for

Looking at my first fountain and wondering what to look out for. Boat is completely white as he said he peeled the decals off. I thought they were in the gel? Has 200 hours on a 500 efi. Runs a 26 4 blade prop.
Any direction is appreciated

My brother in law had that same boat. It is still my favorite single engine go fast. Very well mannered and very fast. Rode amazing for a 29 foot boat. He never had a lick of trouble out of it except for marine patrol harrassing him for noise. I seem to remember 72-74 mph out of it.

I just bought the same boat and we love it. Not the same power though as mine has a 510" engine and 600hp but the handling is awesome. Cuts through the rough stuff and rides like a dream. Go for it and don't look back.

Little things like GPS speedo battery, cables, indicator cables, drive alignment & sealing, trailer brakes...all little stuff that end up costing you bucks.
The boat is nice tho the cabin is small. The get up and go is awesome. Enjoy.

had boat out on the weekend. It came with a bravo 26 and 28. BOth appear to be stock and not labbed. The 26 wants to over rev and will run 5300 real easy. The 28 will hardly get on plane and only turn 4600 rpm. This is the first I have seen this big of a difference in two props. What does everyone else run on their single 29s with a 500efi

I run a 26, which is what my boat came with new. My reggie report says 5300 rpm wot with no gas, 42 degree air and in 2ft chop with a top speed of 77. I have seen 76 once very light on fuel and with the g/f in the passenger seat. Last night ran 74.6 with prob at least half a tank. 2 seasons ago I looked into other prop options. I bought a brand new bravo 1 prop because the other was original and had been reworked. I lost a solid 100-150 rpm just because of the new prop. I'm sure with the prop being 11 years old and also being reworked at least once, there was a slight loss in performance. I also tried a cutting edge 27p labbed bravo style prop. Almost identical in performance to the bravo 1 26 stainless.also, at 5300 you are right on the money, especially if you get some load in the boat as far as a full tank of fuel and passengers. If you are going more than that with load then maybe explore something more.

yes 5300 with full tank of fuel and 3 people in boat

Rereading your rpm numbers, maybe it's possible you are experiencing the same thing I was with my original 26p. I'm sure with 10+ years of use the blades bend and flex overtime and now may not exactly be to factory specs, or you have a strong running 500 and you could try a worked 28p. I believe b blades has a test program.
