29' Fountain Drive Upgrade Questions
 

2004 29' Fever 525. Boat runs 78 mph on the limiter with a stock B1 26" and no problems with getting on plane or blowout. I want to upgrade my XR LWP 1.5 ratio drive over the winter to add reliability and make future power upgrades possible too.

Wanted to see if anyone swapped out their XR with an IMCO or Arneson. Which IMCO combination? Did you use a shortie on the IMCO or keep the XR lower? What were the results?

due to size of the case, the imco are stronger but slower due to drag, for what you have the newer XR should be fine, run royal purple and ease on plane, and cut the throttle if airborn...
