Opinions needed

So I have sold my 10 meter and I am deciding what to get next.
My initial thought was to get a sea ray sun dancer and relax and I thought the wife would want to get a ski boat since she likes to ski. We talked and I think we have found some common ground to get another fountain.
Here is my dilemma i sold my dually earlier in the year bought a 2014 silverado high country 1/2 ton and the wife said we are not going to loose our a** on the new truck so buying a new 3/4 or 1 ton is out so thus leads me to my boat problem.
I could go back to a 29 that I could tow with the current truck , but the guy in me wants to have at least close to what I had a newer 35 I really want a 42 but the max I can fit in my garage is a 38 which I could be happy with.
The only problem I have with some of the 29's I looked at is that people are asking what people are asking for 35's.
Sorry for rambling just looking for opinions.
Thanks Rob

How far and rigorous is your tow?

jmoore1225 11-27-2014 04:18 PM

You had the crazy painted 10mtr correct? Your gonna be really disappointed in the ride downsizing.

redsled33 11-27-2014 06:40 PM

Yes I had the crazy painted 10 meter.
I tow about 8 miles to the Ohio river which is where I do most of my boating but I go to Cumberland a couple times a year. My new truck is supposed to tow 9500lbs and I have moved the 10 meter with it but I don't want any problems towing especially if I am overweight and have an accident and insurance won't pay way too much to lose to chance that .

My 32 was 11-11,500lb on the trailer. A twin 29 wont be far behind that. Would not be a fun tow to Cumberland w/ a 1/2 ton.

My insurance company made me sign a waver that my truck is rated to tow my weight.

I have my 32 fountain and my 39 mainship on ebay. You can have both for around 60k. Makes you and the wife happy! I want a 42 or 47.

Sounds like you should've kept the dually and 10 meter lol

How about getting a good deal on a 35/38, and picking up an older dually for around 5-6k, and just use it to tow the boat around when needed.

Hey joe, is the 10 meter the same hull as the 35 straight bottom without swim platform?

Yes sir. Well, until the single step came out in 95?

That's what I was thinking about getting a cheaper dually to tow the boat. I am not in a hurry to get a new boat just going to wait for the right boat to come along

Or you could just grab your buddies truck who works all summer and take it...... Lot cheaper if you ask me

Better yet, buy a lift and your same buddy will give you free storage!!!
