2002 Fountain Fever - Potential Buy
 

Hi guys

I am new to the go fast industry, mostly boated on sea ray cruisers, and I am especially new to the fountain world. I did most of my research on bajas and was almost set on buying one until someone told me about fountains.

I have been shopping for a 27 fever for my first boat.


Does anyone know anything about this one? What is a good price for the boat. I think 40k is too much. The boating market says that is a good price but when I look at nadaguides and bucvalu, they all have these boats priced way lower then market.

Someone please help as I am very interested in this fountain...

For that money, you could buy a 98-00 '29 Fever, which will give you a much larger cockpit. The same truck could tow both of them, they'll have the same or similar engines (as long as its a single engine 29), etc.

What you would be getting for the money is much better in the 29 than the 27, IMO.

That is a nice looking Fever though!

I am trying to get the guy down to 35k...

Is that more reasonable for the boat or is that still overpriced?

I'd love to have a 29 but people are asking a lot for them as well

Way over priced if you ask me. Maybe if it was a 29-32 with a pair of ho's. Nice looking no doubt.

Seen too many just as nice go for the 25-30 mark, it's a nice looking boat no doubt but 35 is still pretty steep when you can pick them up much cheaper....and being that it's your first go fast I wouldn't get into one for two much cause you'll be unloading it in a season or two going bigger, so try to stay low so you won't be upside down when you move up....the 29 would be a much better choice!

I sold my 02 one owner clean in may. 35,000 800 hours on 496ho xz. For reference.

Where do you guys find deals on the boats? And when is the best time to look? Everywhere I look, someone has overpriced their boat and won't come down, even though its winter time.

If someone has a boat listed for something like 40k...how often are you going to get them to come down 7k+?

I guess I better keep looking.

IMHO I think its priced fair,,maybe a little on the high side but fair asking price,,,I think 35k would be a good deal,,,,

everyone seems to talk about all the great deals out there,,but I think if you want a nice clean turn key boat you have to step up and pay accordingly..

I think it's priced fair in terms of what everyone else is asking for their fountain, but are these people really getting anywhere near their asking prices??

How long will it take before that 496ho needs to be rebuilt?

If that boat is as clean as it looks, it's worth that money. That's a decent trailer, and the boat has nice upgrades and accessories including the hydraulic steering, bimini and cover.

You should get 600-1000 hours out of a properly maintained and not-beat-on 496HO.
