32 Fever carpet replacement questions
 

Does anyone have any pictures of what the cabins look like torn down for carpet replacement? I need to replace mine but am wondering how hard of a job it is and what all needs to be removed to do it. Is the carpet glued in and if so what have you guys had success using for replacement glue etc? How long of a project is it to do? Is there any particular type or brand of carpet you would use or not use? Any information (things that broke, special tools needed etc) will be helpful!

To remove all of it, you'd have to take the closet, sink cabinet and all the seating out. The carpet is installed, then everything is screwed down over it. Removing the cabinet is a big chore. Course you could just replace the floor piece, or cut around the cabinet. The seat bottoms come out real easy.

Does the sink cabinet (mine has a ref. in it also) fit out the doors or do you leave it inside and work around it? Just want to know what I'm getting myself into. That's not a bad idea to cut around things though I never thought of that.. My idea was to cut a runner piece for the floor and call it good for now but I don't think that is going to fly with the wife lol.

Yeah, the floor is a sep piece from sides. All glued in. Easiest if you just wanna replace that piece. I pulled my cabinet out to modify the storage area to fit my AC unit, in place of the cooler, and I did take it apart inside the boat. More than likely I had to because the AC had to fit down in it before the top went back on. Without measuring, don't know if it would fit thru door as 1 piece. Either way, it's a job to remove. Getting to all the screws is a chore.

Well sounds like fun... but in thinking about it I should probably just pull everything out to do it right. Did you do your carpet too at that time? I'm envisioning one giant piece that is like Origami I will need to figure out how to cut and glue back in properly lol!

^ Lucky you! I also thought of possibly dying it since it is ok other than being stained in a few areas. Might not be a good idea in a marine application though.
