1983 fountain executioner...sellable boat?
i have an opportunity to purchase a pristine 1983 fountain executioner, with a trailer. the boats has twin 540 motors with littlefield 10-71 blowers each running two 850 dominators.the motors were dynoed at just under 1100 hp each. it has no. 5 outdrives and 5 blade props.
one motor is pulled and has a hole in one piston, it still ran like this. after the motor is fixed and re installed, is something like this worth any money? , i simply couldn't afford to operate a boat like this on a regular basis and am really just looking at this as an investment. is there a market for a boat like this? assuming the worst case for the motor rebuild, i would really need to sell this boat for around 35k for t to worth my time. could a boat like this go for that kind of money? any input would be appreciated. thanks! |
Anything is possible but with a statement that you are looking at a boat as an investment you should stop right there. Good Luck.

Being an 83 I'm guessing it's a 33? It's worth a few bucks to buy and part out if it's clean and can be bought as is for 20k or less

I would assume that you already know that boats ARE NOT good investments. Besides a 1983 boat no matter what make will be a very hard one to sell. It's just too old.

I for one like this era of boat. Given condition I'm sure someone, somewhere will give it love. If it needs to be parted out you have some hardware that will not be difficult to find a home for.

thanks for the input. i can get this boat for around 15k. i would imagine two supercharged motors, with outdrives and props could be worth that. i was hoping not to part it out but will if i have to.
thanks, again |
