Fever dash upgrade - almost finished
Here's a photo of where I started - dated and worn black dash, original SW gauges looking tired.
http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/d...sw1x1p5mk.jpeg I stripped and repainted the dash white, the lettering is all painted on with metallic teal and a few coats of clear, New Autometer gauges and teal bezels. I also rebuild the throttle and shifter with new wear pads and springs and a fresh coat of white paint. Similarly I did the engine hatch switch panel and both power bolster switch plates. I'm hoping when installed it make the boat feel like something from this century. http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/d...srk1skdnm.jpeg http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/d...slt8rhckp.jpeg I'll post up some more photos when I get it installed in the boat along with the new wheel. Very nice job. Looks good. Did you paint the lettering or someone else?
|
ICU - Thanks!
I painted it. I did a white base, masked everything that wasn't a letter and shot with the teal. It was a colossal pain to get everything lined up properly, and there area few small mistakes that probably I'll only notice - nothing worth a repaint over. Ryan |
Really nice work!!

That's a lot of small masking and impressive.
|
Looks good. Whats the logo?
|
Looks great. I can see the glossy reflection in the white panel. What are you going to use for a wheel?
|
Thanks all.
US1 - It's not a logo per say, it's my signature. I was going to sign the back, but I had all that extra white space that was begging for something. F350 - I found a white fountain wheel to use for now. I plan on installing towards the end of April assuming the snow is finally finished. Ryan |
Looks great! Really nice dash sets off a boat!

Looks nice!
I have an extra wheel if your interested. 100.00 and I'll cover the ride or 75.00 + freight. I purchased for my last dash and ended up buying a red one. Never installed. ◦Wheel Kit Part Number: ISWK13CFBK http://www.livorsi.com/catalog/wheels_isotta.htm |
Looks great !

Nice! My dash is slated to be redone next winter and I hope it turns out as nice as yours.
|
Looks good! Pretty cool you painted it yourself! I haven't seen anyone put their radio in the dash that's a good idea since you have the space. Assuming those are the switch covers and pointers you made us too? As soon as I get my %&*# hull issue straightened out I will be back on my dash upgrade lol.... Looks good!!

Shifter bezel would really set the controls off.

I bought a shifter bezel when redoing my dash too, but didn't like the fit. It was just too sloppy with big side gaps, so it would fit all. So I made mine for a closer fit and 1 also for the side switch panel.

US1 - excellent work. I plant to make a bezel for the shifter (need to figure out how to bevel the edge close to the radio, not a lot of room there), accessory panel and both bolster button plates. It should look great in teal...
The dash is in the boat, such a simple change gives it a much improved look. http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/d...scp1nmmab.jpeg Ryan |
Wow that made a huge difference. Looks great.
|
Very nice job. I agree first thing people notice is the dash with all the gauges. Great Job!
|
Thanks for the compliments. Next up is getting the engine reassembled and back into the boat. The season has started for the Buffalo area and I'm getting antsy...
