Offshore Fountain with outboards?

I saw a Fountain closed bow offshore model running with outboards in an old Everglades Marina Poker Run video. Has anyone seen one like this before or have any photos? With the new 400 HP outboards it seems that this would be good to bring back?

I would really like to see an outboard (non fishing model) Fountain.

I am considering a refit on my 34 cc, making it a sports boat, either closed bow or maybe sports bow rider. It's a good hull in the slop where I go boating and the Verados give me no problems at all. Although a slow boat on OSO, it's considered very fast where I live.

Sorry, but I do like egg beaters!

Rak Rua, Outboards have lower maintenance, easier engine access, weight savings and additional space. It makes sense. Are there many performance boaters in Thailand or are you it?

Pat, almost zero performance boating where I am (Pattaya Beach).
There is only one Mercury dealer for Thailand with an office here and also down south in Phuket. They are authorized for Verados and Mercury racing outboards but have little knowledge about 'blue motors' so outboards are the sensible option.

The Merc dealer also builds a lot of their own brand boats, styling is a bit debatable but quality and finish is very good and the cost of labour here is ridiculously low. They are agents for Sea Ray, Boston Waler and Chris Craft and dare I say it, they have a mold for a 38 foot go fast that bares a striking resemblance to a well known U.S. brand, some might say the number 1 offshore brand and a real gun!! I have seen one of these local builds with triple Optimax on a bracket but they haven't built any more for some years.

Trying to sell my boat, I'd like a Fountain 35 Executioner, but no interest and that's why I'm considering a refit.

You guys in the states sure hold all the cards when it comes to the range of boats readily available.

Cheers, Jon.

I have an 86 10 meter with outboards. It has a fountain bracket.

Lucky man. Do you know if it's a one off or did they build a few of them? What engines and performance do you get? Love to see pics of it.

I've been rebuilding it to meet a very specific need. It's no longer your typical go fast.

Here is what it looked like when I got it. I still have no idea how many were made, and have found no one who can tell me.

Good links, thanks for that.

Project looks awesome and whereas Reggie might not approve, it's your boat and you're getting what suits you best!
If I had your skills, I'd be onto my little project idea in a heartbeat. Well done.
