What's is the speed difference?

What's the speed difference between a 1998 42 ft 500 carbs and a 2000 500efi 42 ft. The bottom is the same isn't it? The 500 efi,s in the latter addition made a little more hp . I think 509 at the crank.

The bottoms are not the same. 98/99 was the biggest step made.

Nope. 98-99 was the "big" step. Then it was slightly smaller in 2000 and the final change was in 04 I think. The biggest difference wasn't necessarily speed from what I understand but how well it handled at 100+.
