29 fountain
Sorry for some reason it cut out half my post. Downsides fountain fuel gauges are not accurate(see fountain forum for info) slow to plane high x, they say valve springs should be replace at 250 hrs on 525s (no big deal) cmi headers have issues should be pressure tested (again see forum) And bravo xr drives can have issues I'am sure how you run impacts this same on any boat not just fountain In short had mine 6 years love it looks good rides good excellent performance plan on keeping it . good luck on your purchase P.A. Pirate If I can answer any questions just ask

In comparison to the 27' Fever...
- cockpit is bigger - has a cooler - new models had shorter windshields - 525 is a great combination in this boat We had a 27' Fever and were looking to go bigger. My friend (with a 29) suggested that I skip the 29' and go straight to a 35'. We are very happy with the 35'. |
The one Im looking at has 500EFI in it. boat has 189 original hours on it. guys says it only runs 68-70 mph. I like the cuddy layout rather than the jump seats, like most other boats.

Look under the step in between the cockpit area and the cabin, Is it dry and clean?

29 with 500 efi should run70-75 depending on load en prop. 500 should have e-top headers not the same problem as 525 headers also not sure if valvesprings need change at 250hrs. 500 is a nice solid engine and is a good match for the 29 at 189 hrs you should have a good solid engine for a number of seasons

From the pics, it looks like a B1 prop. not sure what pitch. I figured it should runs 70's all day long.

We just bought a 2004 29' with a 496 in it at the beginning of summer. All I can say it that I wish I had done it years ago. Coming from a small Baja the Fountain is light years better. I am happy with the 496, power is adequate but I like the reliability and that I dont have to worry about it at all. We just did a poker run on Vancouver Island BC and we ran the boat 45miles over from Washington, 100 miles for the poker run, and 45 miles back with 6 people and all their gear comfortably and used less then a tank of gas.

A good friend has an 06,, 29 Fever w/ 525 EFI, XR, 1.50 ratio, 26 P. Bravo1 prop,, top speed 76 mph. on gps. w/2 people and 1/2 tank gas.,
