I have called this number. At least twice and not gotten through to anyone. Ad looks sketchy. Hyfive have you ever seen this boat in person? What does refreshed with two brand new long blocks mean??? 10 HRS on the Motors just refreshed with two brand new long blocks

I have never seen this boat and was surprised to see that the hometown was within a mile of my house. Something tells me thats just where the boat is being stored right now.
As for your other question... sorry if you already know this but by the way you asked the question, I'm not sure you do, so.... a long block consists of a "short block", which is basically the cast engine block and rotating assembly (pistons, connecting rods, camshaft, crankshaft) then you add the cylinder heads, oil pump, intake manifold and a lot of other stuff to make a near complete engine. Typically a long block is everything minus the accessories like water pumps, power steering, etc.
The ad claims the boat has 270 hours on it.. "Refreshed with new long blocks" at those hours with 700 SCi's implies that something pretty bad happened with the previous motors such that it required the bottom end of the engines to be replaced. Having said that, if they are brand new long blocks with 10 hours, then they are pretty close to being new motors. If you do finally connect with the seller, you will want to ask for details on why those long blocks needed to be replaced. At those hours, I would expect a top end refresh (ie: springs, rockers, lifters) but not the whole engine. Offer stands.... if you connect with the seller and you would like me to go look at it, its a mile away...

Is there a build difference 08 vs 07 38 Lightnings? 38' Lightning is on my short list with the newer cabin and interior. I noticed some have new interior but old cabin. I started out as keeping an eye out for a 700 boat but a full staggered 525 boat would work for us and a lot less $. Anyone can clarify the build info on these boats?

I think the cockpit update was '07 and then the cabin update was '08.
Seems the owners of a 'new cabin' model are asking a lot more than those of the pre update cabin.
