29 one foot between front and back seat. One foot in cabin.

If it is a single this is true, if it's a twin 29 then the size is split between the engine compartment and cabin.

Are you sure? I was on a late model (new style top cap) twin SBC 29 and it had much more room between the seats then my 32. I thought the 32 and 27 was the same?

It is possible that a newer small block twin is different, but the twin big block 29's that seem to be most prevalent have a very similar sized cockpit to the 27.
