REAL TEMPTED to trade in my 24 and get into a stand up.

Not a bad price on a 2003, but I am guessing the motor is tired because they don't specifically say how many hours it has

I love stock standard low maintenance boring reliable black motors.

I like the 29 but unless you're specifically limited to 29' for towing or storage or similar, they have a 2003 32' with twin 320's that looks great (going by their photos) for an additional 5k. Showing 387 hours.

Just a thought.......

The 29 fountain is a good choice. Does pretty well in the rough water yet easy to tow and with a single motor, easier and cheaper to maintain than a twin. I am helping a buddy market his 29. Located in California at a winter price of $29K. Runs in the 80's on an aluminum trailer. Great boat and you can fly out to test drive it. No ice and snow here. 1999 with a stroked Hp500 to a 540. Excellent point on the hours, I don't want another 500+hr engine.

I'm limited to a 29 for a couple reasons- storage and I want to stick with a single engine.

If you are going to run it on a lake, not the great lakes I would just get a 27 with a 496HO. 68mph. I have had mine for 11 years. 27's are plentiful. Mine has been bullet proof.

What prop are you using ?

One that came with the boat. Bravo 28P. I had BBlades make a custom prop for it and lost 4 mph even after sending it back once.

Where is the length diff between a 27 and 29, in the cockpit or in the cabin?

The only reason I'd ditch the 24 is for cockpit room.
