32 Fountain Fever
I recently removed both of my 502 MPI engines out of my 32 fever. They are in the machine shop now, I plan to achieve 625-650 HP each on the dyno after rebuild. They will be carbureted instead of the fuel injected. I am curious if anybody has upgraded the power in this model boat and if so what prop pitch did you use? I plan on using Bravo 1 props and am thinking a 15 1/4" X 30" four blade prop set. Before I pulled the engines the stock 502 MPI's turned 4800 rpm @ 76.9 gps. The existing props are 15 1/4" X 27" four blades any suggestions?

I can't help but are you aware that you are in the beware and stolen section not the Foutain?

Here in Thailand, all registered boats must carry a name on the side. It's written in Thai but can also write in English if the owner wants. I kept mine simple and called it "Fountain" but when it went through the reg branch here, someone stuffed up and my boat is actually named "Foutain" without the first 'n'. I let it go because it's almost impossible to pronounce without saying the 'n' anyway, you're probably trying right now! RR P.S. Always loved the 32's because at rest, they look like they're ready to pounce. I know the lack of freeboard can be a problem but it just looks great! |
LOL. Wish I could say I saw it on your boat but it was lousy typing and proof reading. As you know I have a brother in Thailand so maybe it was his bad influence.

My 32 has stock 500HP's and I use either 28 Hydromotives ( which when measured are actually 29 1/2's) or 28 Bravo ones. I had Bblades tune the Bravo ones. I think 30 Bravo's is a good start but you may find that 32 labbed Bravo's will work best if you actually get to 650hp.
Talk to Bblades and see what they think. That's what I did, asked them which props to lab, they said the Bravo's and not the Hydro's and I'm very happy with them. |
