Whats It Worth?

2005 42' Lightening, 525, XR, IMCO shorty Lowers, amazing stereo, recovered bolsters and side panels, 509ish hours (upper redone by performance boat center at 475ish), fountain trailer in great condition, located on Lake of the Ozarks.

I plan on listing it in the classifieds but am trying to establish a realistic valve.

Thanks for the help!!!

80ish depending on condition. Engines are ready to be freshened and that expensive. Headers original?

not necessarily ready to pull bottom ends. I'd say lost at 109,000 and see what happens. Can always negotiate down. I know some 05/06 42s that have sold in the mid 80s.

Thank you for the response. Fresh water boat, always undercover when not in use (great condition). Leak down test good. Re did heads as the alum rocker arms showed a little wear at the rod. Headers have been pressure tested. No way this is an 80K boat.

Thank you for the response. Totally agree, if taken care of, the bottom ends keep on going. Getting closer to what two performance boat brokers who know the boat told me they think it is worth and would sell for.

No disrespect intended. I also have an 05 42 w 525's. I hope they are worth a lot more!

05's may or may not have new "gen x" style headers...if they don't, that will be the biggest issue with potential buyers. 7k to upgrade to newer Gen X style....

Yep, that is the tough part. My 05 has the exhaust where the outer pipe does not meet the flange on the header. I originally thought that was the "new style" when I purchased my 05 in Feb. of 2015. Now I believe my headers are leaking and are not the "new style". Or they may be the "new style" but not gen X. Either way, I am not excited about purchasing new exhaust.

Agreed. I have had bad luck with mine, but I am working through those issues. I feel the 42 w/T525's is the best balance of speed, performance, size, and reliability out there. But they all take a labor of love:)
