x dimension advice - staggered 42 fountain (non step)
Bout to cut new transom. Need advice.
Reggie lll suggested 1" under with 5 blade maximus props. Anyone else ?? Smooth bottom boats run fast by carrying the bow right? Will the boat carry the bow with that shallow x? I could always run spacers to fine tune Thanks in advance |
You can always space down cant space up. are you going full stagger ? blowers ? hatch clearance ?
|
Full stagger
509 ci...na....575hp Bravo Transom mounted water pickups |
My 2000 lightning was set up that way 18 inch crank centers , I think 1 or 1.5 bellow with 2 inch shorties .

At 1" under I doubt I'll get water pressure I need without lwp....and I'm trying to run standard bravo lowers. Don't wanna hafta buy new lowers....or the more expensive lwp lowers down the road .
1 mph is worth it to me. What pickups are you talking about? |
Never heard of transom pickups costing 2 or more mph....seems high.
Help me out! I'm listening ! |
Went from transom pu,s hanging below to raising them and putting relief,s in the hull on my 42 and did not notice any difference , Reggie will say 10 mph ,
|
Reggie makes a single pickup that feeds a big single strainer that will feed both engines. They run a air bleed off the top of the strainer makes a real neat set up. It's the same system they used in their race boats.
