98 - 99 Lightning 42

Looking to see if there are any UNADVERTISED 42's around.

Budget is $70k.

I may have something for you. My buddy has been talking about selling. I think it's a 98 with hp 500's

IndyRacer 03-26-2016 10:48 PM

Ok, why don't you text or call me which ever you prefer at 774-719-3069.

IndyRacer 03-26-2016 10:49 PM

Thank you

Have you seen the 42 at American Custom Marine? Cleanest one I have ever seen.

Matt

I wonder what's involved with removing arch?
Clean looking boat from that 1 pic, would like to see more.

Usually removing arch isn't that difficult and once off people have step plates made to bolt where arch was. Just an FYI.

Good to know on step plates... Thanks Mike

Mine had the holes filled and some grip tape put over it. Actually looked nice.

truebluedc 03-27-2016 06:14 PM

Arch unbolts easily, just need a few people to lift and move it without damaging the boat.

If I had the room in my facility to house a 42 I would have bought that boat at American custom Marine over my 35. It is bye far the cleanest one I have looked at in the past year and I have looked at about 10.

Here's a clean 1998 with fresh blower motors.

I did look at that one. I'm more of a stock engine kinda boater (turn key)...lol
The other thing is the plexi wind screen, it is basically what I had in my 35'. Long time looking through that screen, need glass! I decided to move forward on the 42 @ Shogren, staggered 500hp's, low hours, CLEAN!
Also has a glass screen... maybe to much glass...lol
I have the P&S set, doing a survey next week. Should be good to go as I got a thumbs up from a fellow OSO brother that knew the boat's previous owner. So thanks for the help guys, hope this one treats me as well as my 35 did.

If that deal falls through, I just listed a 2000 model with rebuilt 500EFIs, new custom paint on a Manning.

Nice looking boat.

indysupra 04-01-2016 05:20 PM

It does look good. I like green on a boat!

Fischan 04-27-2016 12:00 PM

What kind of speeds can a 42 stagger run with 500efi's? I like the one glenn posted!

Michigan Matt 04-27-2016 12:07 PM

Some people say 80 I would say 76 to 78 depending on how hard you work on your set up.

Matt

GL@PBC 04-29-2016 09:39 AM

MM is spot on! Boat should run around 75 +/-.
