Also I read somewhere that after a certain year (2006 I think) Fountain didn't use wood for stringers, any truth to this?

The rot In all these boats is not from water In the bilge. It's from exposed wood that gets wet and can never dry out.

It amazes me Fountain didn't seal exposed wood areas. Heck, I remember reading years ago that even Bayliner was sealing the out drive openings in their transoms.
