HP Needed to Achieve 90 MPH

What horse power do I need to achieve 90 MPH in a 38 Fever none stepped hull?

Mild thunder on here hit 89 mph with 800 a side in a non stepped 38. This is with Speedmasters drives.

You can get 10 mph out of set up. So the exact hp may be different.. My stepped 38 ran 90 when i got it . Now it will bust a hundred (without even touching a motor) . Aprox 700 hp each

@mcprodesign - what size steps do you have? I have a '99 38' Fever with the small steps. With full fuel, full gear, a honker of a stereo system and my fat ass on board, I busted 92mph on a short stretch. How's yours set up? What drives? Props? Gear ratios? Ect? If I had more lake at the time, I'm sure I could have broken triple digits. I'm running 900hp/side. Side-by-side motors, small steps.

Don't forget to count the wight of the skanks and your gold chain. That some times get left out of the equation

Full tank of gas on a non stepped hull with two skanks u will need around 900hp per side

^^youre mistaking. I just posted Joe runs a non stepped boat. 89.6 with 800 a side. Still tweaking some things.

Sportmaster -2 2004 gen XR drives. Have to change the oil a lot to keep them clean and healthy, but they use little HP to make the props turn. But you have 900 hp so you might need stronger drives.
I blue printed my lowers ( myself) and the bottom of my boat ( myself) and went faster. I also get 3-4 mph out of the herings over the maximus 5 blades. Our boats love 5 blades . I have tried 4 and 6 blades. 6 blades will work but hard to get on plane. Mine is also a small step 38 . I have no plumbing or kitchen. Just a porta potty in the bathroom.

It's probably a little more weight forward of the cockpit having the sink and plumbing. I ran without an anchor and anything in the galley to get the bow lightest I could for speed. Hope this helps!
