removal of cabin seats?
anyone know how to remove the seats in the cabin? 1994 boat, want to replace the carpet in the cabin.
|
i redid the cabin of a 90 42 7years ago didnt like the colors so i gutted the interior walls seats counters everything right down to the fiberglass. good luck on your project. if memory serves me correct i believe if you spead you seat cushions and look inbetween you will find the screws and for the backs youll have to take the shelf behind the seat backs out and then you can get to those screws. i cant remember exactly if this is correct, as i have done two cabins over the years on different boats but i believe it is correct

Anyone know why the seat cushions aren't removable on a 27 for storage? I thought about modifiying them this winter, any ideas?

Runnin a fever,
Great question, I tried to remove them when I installed a custom stereo. I eventually gave up and wired around it. Will |
Later is correct. There are a couple of screws that are in the seam of each seats. No storage underneath, just a solid base. Too bad, could use more storage on these boats and this seems like a great place to have it.

Later how was the plywood that the upolstery is attached to on the walls of the cabon and berth attached and how did you remove it?

all of the walls are covered and removable you just pop the caps off and the screws are behind them the walls that are around the head and closet come down individually with the upohlstry intact.
the vberth walls at the opening have same screws at the top and bottom they slide to center and out. if you putting in new carpet there is either a slot for the walls or i slotted the carpet so that you could reinstall the walls because it was thicker. i was surfing the web the other nite and saw a picture on h20performance in there classifieds of my 90 42 and it had pictures of the cabin. when i got done with it it looked factory but had more contempory color which is one area fountain just aint got it. thats why when i ordered my 98 42 i ordered white everything and that boat is on h2o also although i havent had it for sale since 99 so h2o classified or way out of date. hope this helps. later dave hughes |
i also put a electric head in the 90 although it did not have a holding tank ( i know , i know ) i never let anyone put solids in it.
i mainly did it because the wife had a hard time getting in and out of the boat with out a ladder. and she pees alot. ya got to make them comfortable then they love to boat. later dave hughes |
