42 Fountain VS 35

How much longer is the nose of a 42 w/staggered 525's than a 35? What I mean is, there is a 7' difference between the boats. With the staggered setup, I'm just wondering approx. how much more of the 7' is actually forward of the windshield?

majority of the difference is in the bow

You would think there is more difference in length in how they run and handle.

42 has more cockpit space also. Stagger 35 is tight. Lol

I have a staggered 35 and brother-in-law has a staggered 42. I'm guessing 2 feet in the cockpit (behind bolsters to rear bench) and about 4 feet in the cabin (from the sliding door to the start of the v-berth). We keep them in the same storage building so I can get you exact dimensions if you want.

A staggered 35 must be a rocket! What do you have for power and what is top speed if you don't mind sharing...thanks

Have 525's with Bravo XR's/SSM lowers and Hering 6 blade props. Fountain performance report says 101, recall speedo shows 100. The highest I've ran it to was 95. I know there is more in it - just haven't had enough seat time to get the last few mph out of it yet.

You ready to step up to one that will run those speeds listed like it's on vacation ? It really is unbelievable to all that have experienced it.

That is what I was wondering. Sometimes the space between the front bolsters and the rear bench is too tight. I was hoping there would be more space!

Dayummm.... That's amazing performance from your 35!

The full stagger 35's are rocketships, the cockpit space in our 38 full stagger is marginally better. As a rule under 42' full stagger boats the cockpit suffers...but it's worth it during go time!
