Extra transom hose???

Looking at some newer boats, I notice they have an extra hose coming from the outdrive, around where the speedo tube is, that runs parallel to the drive trim cable. What is this? Some secondary lower unit drive oil hose?

On my 99 that is the speedo tube. I dont think Fountain uses Mercs through transom system for the speedo. Ill check tomorrow in the light.

I thought about the speedo tube, but on twin motors, there are 2 extra lines.
Maybe its like the Master Craft ski boats and use 2 speedos ;)

They are the speedo pick ups. They tie together on the inside. Fountain doesn't use the mercruiser tubes.

Gotta admit that it was strange to see them on a new boat that had a GPS speedo. Thats what was throwing me off. Seems like unneccesary holes drilled into the transom, not to mention more clutter.
