I need talked off the ledge!!

Ok so here is the short version I had a 2008 3& lighting w/525's. 150 hrs on the gauge, 86 of that at idle. 10k jl stereo, very very clean and almost flawless boat. When I put a deposit on my new boat i I had glanced through the fountain pages, with what else was for sale it looked like my boat was worth 155-160 and probably had it gone the next day @145,000. I just had to accept a bid under 120 because of my schedule. In comparison to what out there this should be a 170-180 boat. So my question is how did these prices drop like they did? How are people asking and getting stuff in two completely different sides of the spectrum. Or was I just a complete idiot for even thinking of letting my boat that cheap??

I messed up guys, boat was sold this afternoon. If it doesn't close tomorrow will create a new page. I'm so sad to watch it go. It really is such a fantastic boat. It's big enough. It's deep enough? Whoever bought that for a fuxking steal. It's like 300k $ all day.

When I sold my immaculate Formula 382 a few years back I looked at all the other boats like it for sale for comparison. I was accused of selling mine too cheap since the first person that saw it, bought it.........a year later nearly every single one of those boat I compared mine too were STILL for sale. At the end of this you will be in a new boat and didn't deal with 18 people coming to and asking all kinds of crazy requests of you.

When I bought my 2005 42 Fountain nearly ten years ago I jumped at the price it was so good. It has been a fantastic boat and exactly as it was represented. After the deal was sealed, I asked the seller why the relatively low price? He might have gotten more. He said, "Because I know what people say a boat 'is worth', and I also know what they sell for. And I wanted to sell mine."

There was an 07 Lightning for sale last year for 145K. It had 525's upgraded to 600+ and it sat and sat for a long time. Rally surprised me.

I've recently sold a 2007 Fountain 34cc with triples and I reckon it was very cheap.
It's getting replaced by a 2007 Donzi 27 ZR which will owe me almost the same money. Go figure?

As disappointed as I was with the price on the old boat (it was super clean and low hours) I am excited about the replacement boat and I've gotten over the money aspect.

Onward and upward, your next boat is always worth more than the disappointment of selling your previous one. :)

Dont jump!

It's simply worth what someone is willing to pay. No right or wrong.
